Our story
GOAL works with communities facing extreme poverty and crisis
GOAL was founded by former Irish Press journalist, John O’Shea in 1977 when he saw the plight of street children in Kolkata (Calcutta) first-hand. Over the last 43 years GOAL has responded to many of the world’s major humanitarian crises, working with vulnerable communities in more than 60 countries.
Our story
Where there is need, GOAL is present
Every day, more than 2,400 GOAL staff work to improve the lives of those affected by conflict and natural disaster. Last year they reached more than five million people in 13 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Tunisia is a welcoming country with a sunny temperate climate, friendly people, beautiful sandy beaches, a great choice of Tunisia Hotels and a good choice of water sports. Added together with the fact that Tunisia is just a 3-hour flight from the UK, what more could you want for your perfect beach holiday in the sun.
Located at the northern tip of the African continent, Tunisia straddles the magnificent Mediterranean and is small enough to make traveling between the beach resorts, desert regions, cultural attractions and souks very easy. All of the beach resorts offer a superb choice of water sports including diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, and water-skiing.
Stretching from the fertile Mediterranean in the north to the Sahara Desert in the south, Tunisia has a varied and dramatic landscape. The country has an array of different cultures, blending the ancient with the modern.
In the north, you will find the vibrant capital city of Tunis with the quaint coastal village of Sidi Bou Said located close by. The village has inspired generations of artists with its whitewashed buildings and blue paintwork. As you travel further south you reach the Sahara Desert where you can take a camel ride to experience the lifestyle of the Berbers and nomads. A highlight of such a trip is the dwellings in Matmata which feature in the Star Wars movies.
With its lively resorts and its mile after mile of sparkling white beaches, few places can match Tunisia for summer sun. Add to this, of course, the staggering remains of ancient civilizations that dot its evocative landscapes and, all in all, it’s hard to imagine a complete destination.
As an increasingly popular holiday spot, there are obviously a number of different companies that do excellent Tunisian packages. A lot of these packages comes with hotels. Some of these hotels also have casinos for those that would like to gamble.
