René Angélil was born on January 16, 1942, in Montreal, Quebec. His father, Joseph Angélil was of Syrian descent and mother, Alice Angélil was of Lebanese descent. His parents were religious and followed Christianity. They were the members of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church.
