We booked Elements Restaurant – The Rendezvous Casino Southend to celebrate my son's birthday. We were quite surprised to find the restaurant is placed within the Casino itself and although not wishing to play the tables ourselves, it was quite interesting to watch others. The menu is not extensive but food was good quality and cooked to taste. Breaking: The Rendezvous casino at the Kursaal has permanently closed, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nearly 100 members of staff have been made redundant. The owners, Caesars Entertainment UK, announced the closure this morning.

Located in Kursaal Amusement Park, one of the earliest theme parks, in the Essex seaside town of Southend, the Rendezvous Casino is part of the Caesars Entertainment group. The casino shares the complex with a bowling alley and other amusements and is within walking distance of the seafront esplanade and the famous Southend pier, the world’s longest pleasure pier at 1.3 miles. The Rendezvous has a 23,000 square foot casino floor and is located on the second floor.
Drivers should take the A127 onto the A13 where members will find free parking adjacent to the casino. Southend Victoria station is just over a mile from the action and Southend Central just under. Southend Airport is just over three miles away and Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton airports are all between 45 and 55 miles distance. Being a seaside town there are many hotels to choose from with the nearest being the Hope, Park Inn and the Falcon, as well as a plethora of independent B and Bs.
The main gaming floor has 20 slots and 28 fully automated roulette terminals, 20 gaming tables with nine American Roulette tables, five Blackjack, three Three Card Poker and one Baccarat. There are also 16 roulette machines. In addition, Kalooki and Mahjong are played regularly. Selected slot machines have up to £10,000 jackpots. It features two restaurants – the Elements serving international cuisine and the Fahrenheit bistro which serves hearty American-style dishes. There’s live music every weekend, with tribute acts, singers and DJs and the video screens ensure you don’t miss any important sporting events as well.
